We checked 7 ice rinks near Beverley, from Hull Ice Arena and Grimsby to York and Leeds, for dates, prices and session times. Updated November 2026.
There are seven ice rinks within about 47 miles of Beverley in winter 2026, and this guide puts their dates, prices and session times in one place. Most people land on Hull Ice Arena, the nearest and open all year, or York’s two Christmas rinks. Every entry was checked on 5 November 2026 against the rink’s own site, and where we could not read something first-hand, the entry says so.

Miles are straight lines from the centre of Beverley, so the road will be longer. We found no rink announced in Beverley, Bridlington or Goole for Christmas 2026. William’s Den in North Cave lists no rink on its 2026 Christmas page, and the Bridlington Ice Trail is a display of sculptures, not skating.
The nearest rink
1. Hull Ice Arena, Kingston Park
Live It Hull calls this “the regions only Olympic size ice rink”, and it is also home to the Hull Seahawks. It is the obvious choice from Beverley, Cottingham and Hessle, and it is a short walk from Paragon Interchange, where trains from Bridlington, Driffield and Beverley stop.
Under-3s cannot skate on these tickets, and walrus, polar bear and penguin aids are limited. The arena cancelled its public sessions on 2 November for ice maintenance, so check before you travel.
Christmas times are not settled. The timetable we read shows an ordinary Friday on 25 December and 1 January, though its session list includes bank holiday and festive closures. Treat those dates as unconfirmed and ring the arena.

2. Grimsby Ice Rink, Cromwell Road
About 23 miles in a straight line, reached over the Humber Bridge, which is tolled. The rink describes itself as the only indoor ice rink in Lincolnshire, and a registered charity has run it since it was transferred from the council in September 2017.
Sessions last 90 minutes. It is the cheapest skating we could read on this list, especially at lunchtime.
The rink also has skates for people with disabilities, according to Discover North East Lincolnshire. Times are on the booking site once you pick a date, and we did not read Christmas times.

An open-air rink at the South Entrance of the Designer Outlet, now in its 21st season, with a funfair and Santa’s Cabin on the same site. Sessions run for 45 minutes, and the rink asks you to arrive 20 minutes early.
A sixth session is free after five stamped visits. Prices include skate hire, and online tickets carry a booking fee on top.
Parking and entry to the site are free.

4. THOR’S on ICE, Museum Gardens
A city-centre rink behind York Art Gallery, about ten minutes’ walk from York station. Its organiser asks skaters to agree to a waiver, and sessions last 45 minutes with marshals on the ice.
All prices are “from”, so they can rise at busy times. Under-13s skate with an adult, skaters must be 3 or over, and skating aids are first come, first served.
The main gardens entrance and the rink itself are step-free. The organiser suggests the Marygate or Bootham Row car parks, or park and ride.

5. The Dome, Doncaster
About 35 miles from Beverley and 17 from Goole. The trust that runs it calls this “the UK’s only split-level ice rink”, known as the Ice Caps, with extra sessions in school holidays.
Prices include skate hire, and booking online saves £1 a head. Younger children can use double-bladed skates or penguin and snowman aids, added at checkout.
Wheelchair users are welcome at any session on the top rink, if the chair is non-electric and hand-pushed by a skating adult over 17. The timetable did not load for us, so check times when you book.

6. Stockeld Park, near Wetherby
Stockeld describes itself as “Leeds’ favourite ice rink”: a 630 square metre outdoor rink of real ice under a roof, looking across the parkland. A Christmas illuminations trail runs on the same site.
Stockeld advises that under-4s should not skate. Under-8s need an adult on the ice with them, and 8 to 16s need an adult supervising, who can stay at the side.
Prices come from our sister site Harrogate Live’s read of the same day; the dates and rules we read ourselves.
Open 21 November 2026 to 21 February 2027; closes 8.30pm during the Christmas Adventure, last entry 8pm; closes 4.30pm on winter weekends and in February half term, last entry 4pm

7. Planet Ice Leeds, Elland Road
A permanent indoor rink, and the only one on this list we found selling a Christmas Day skate. Skate hire is extra, which matters when you compare it with the Christmas rinks.
Planet Ice shows times and prices only through its booking calendar, so these are the dates Harrogate Live looked up on 5 November, not a full timetable. Pick Leeds and a date on its ice skating page for any other day.
Open all year; Wednesday 11 November 11.15am to 2pm; Saturdays 21 November and 5 December 11.45am to 3.15pm; Christmas Eve from 10am; Christmas Day 10am to 12pm; New Year's Eve and New Year's Day from 10am

A little further
Ice Cube at Christmas on Millennium Square, Leeds, is about 46 miles away. Leeds City Council describes a 400 square metre covered rink under a transparent marquee, from 19 November to 31 December, with daily sessions and weekend Penguin Club sessions for under-9s. It says advance tickets are on sale, but we could not read a 2026 price, so it sits outside the seven above.
More Christmas in the East Riding
See what’s on in Beverley this month, East Riding Christmas markets, Santa’s grottos, Hull’s lights and market, Christmas dinner in Beverley and things to do in East Yorkshire all year round. If you are travelling over the holiday, our Christmas trains page has what runs each day; no trains run in the East Riding on 25 or 26 December.
How we chose
This list covers the rinks open to the public this winter within about 47 miles of Beverley, because nothing closer than Hull is running. Dates and prices come from each rink’s own site or booking system on 5 November 2026, and a few details were carried from reads our sister sites made that day, as marked. Prices can change, so confirm them when you book. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed? Email newsdesk@eastridingtoday.co.uk. Taken a good photograph of any of these places? Email it to newsdesk@eastridingtoday.co.uk and we will add it with your name as the credit.
