Bridlington Ice Trail returns on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November. The schedule and road closures are not out yet; last year's free trail ran 11am to 5.30pm.
Yes, the Bridlington Ice Trail is on this year: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2026. The organisers have confirmed the dates on the event’s own website, but say the schedule for both days is “to be confirmed”, and so are the road closures. Everything below about times and locations is from last year’s trail, and we will replace it as soon as the 2026 programme is out.
The quick answer
- Dates: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2026, confirmed by the organisers.
- Times: not published for 2026. In 2025 the sculptures were out from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday and 11am to 3.30pm on Sunday.
- Price: not stated for 2026. The council described the 2025 trail as a free event.
- What is promised for 2026: hand-carved ice sculptures across the town, fire and ice displays, and festive market stalls.
- Road closures: “to be confirmed”, say the organisers.
What we know about 2026
The Bridlington Ice Trail website lists Saturday 14th November and Sunday 15th November, each with “Event schedule to be confirmed”, and a line reading “Road Closures – (TO BE CONFIRMED)”. Its home page promises three things: “hand-carved ice creations that sparkle across Bridlington”, fire and ice displays that “light up the night sky”, and festive market stalls with local crafts, food and Christmas gifts.
The event has local business backing again. The organisers’ sponsors page names more than 20 for 2026, including Bridlington Town Council, Bridlington Spa, the Harbour Commissioners, the Promenades Shopping Centre and Bridlington Round Table.
What is missing so far: the start and finish times, where each sculpture will stand, the fire and ice show times, whether there is a Santa’s grotto, and the map. Last year the council said the website would carry a downloadable trail map “closer to the event”.
How last year’s trail worked
The 2025 trail ran on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November with a “Christmas on the Coast” theme. From the council’s announcement and the 2025 trail map published by Visit East Yorkshire:
- Hours: sculptures out from 11am both days, taken down at 5.30pm on Saturday and 3.30pm on Sunday.
- Fire and ice shows: ice sculpting with chainsaws and power tools, synchronised with pyrotechnics set to music, at Regent Gardens: 1pm and 4pm on the Saturday, 1pm and 3.30pm on the Sunday.
- Live carving: a sculptor carved one large piece from a single block over both days, starting around noon and taking two to three hours.
- Where the sculptures stood: the Promenade, Chapel Street, Cliff Street, Prince Street, Queen Street, Harbour Road, Garrison Square, Marlborough Terrace, South Marine Drive and South Cliff Gardens, with one inside the Promenades Shopping Centre. Some were Saturday only.
- Santa: a grotto on the Saturday, and Santa’s sleigh arrived on Manor Street at 5.30pm.
- Also that weekend: Bridlington’s Christmas Food Festival on King Street.
The 2025 event was part funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the council said. Nothing published so far says whether that funding, or the council’s role, continues for 2026.
Getting there and parking
The sculptures are spread along the seafront and the streets behind it, so it is a walking event. Last year’s map marked the railway station, bus station and the Moorfield, Palace and Leisure Centre car parks around the route. For council parking, our report on the new Beck Hill multi-storey sets out the town’s council parking, and closures for the weekend will go on our roadworks and travel page when they are published. If you are coming on from Beverley, see parking in Beverley.
The rest of the Christmas season
Bridlington switches on its Christmas lights on Friday 27 November (lights page), the Spa’s pantomime follows in December (panto page), and the district’s Christmas markets and grottos are on our Christmas markets and Santa’s grottos pages. Sewerby Hall’s Fairytales at Christmas starts on 21 November.
